Big V Capital and its affiliate Big V Properties is a vertically-integrated real estate investment and property management company whose partners have over 80 years of combined experience in real estate investment management, commercial property management and leasing. Big V owns and operates 32 class A and B grocery and discount anchored neighborhood and community shopping centers totaling 3.2 million square feet, primarily located in secondary markets in the Southeast US.

Strategic Vision

Big V Capital and its affiliate Big V Properties, is a vertically-integrated real estate investment and property management company that prides itself on best in class people, systems, market knowledge and relationships. Big V’s senior management team has over 80 years of successful real estate investment, finance, leasing, property management and asset management experience. This depth of expertise enables Big V to underwrite real estate investment risk effectively and operate the acquired centers in a way that meets or exceeds our business strategies for each property and maximizes returns for our investors.

Big V is focused on acquiring and managing 100,000SF-400,000SF class A and B neighborhood and community shopping centers in strong secondary demographic markets throughout the Southeast US. We seek to acquire assets at well below replacement cost which have been under-managed or ineffectively leased. These assets provide our investors with attractive current and projected yields, significant upside opportunities and competitive total returns on a risk adjusted basis.

Management Team

Jeffery Rosenberg

Jeffery G. Rosenberg Founder, Managing Partner

In 1997, Jeff joined the family firm, Big V Properties, and he currently runs and manages the family real estate, which includes shopping centers, office buildings and residential apartments. As manager of the family firm, he has been involved in many real estate projects, including redeveloping and re-tenanting shopping centers, developing age restricted housing and managing the day-to-day operation of the business. Prior to joining Big V, Jeff was involved in the retail side of the real estate business. From 1995-1997 he managed 25 Big A Auto Parts stores in Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska. Prior to that, he owned a chain of computer stores in the New York/ New Jersey area. Jeff graduated from Pace University in 1984 with a degree in business, and received his MBA from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1995.

Robert L. Levy

Robert L. Levy Founder, Managing Partner

Rob L. Levy is one of the Founders and Managing Partners of Big V Capital. Prior to Big V Capital, Rob was the Chief Operating Officer of the Real Estate Group at Benefit Street Partners, a multi-strategy credit manager with over $11.0 billion in assets under management. Prior to Benefit Street, Rob held various positions at Centerline Capital Group, including Chief Executive Officer, President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer and was a member of the Board of Trustees of Centerline’s parent company, Centerline Holding Company. Centerline was a multifamily finance and asset management company with a national scope mortgage banking platform and over $13 billion in equity and debt under management. Rob joined Centerline in 2001 as the Director of Capital Markets.

From 1998 to 2001, he was a Vice President in the Real Estate Equity Research and Investment Banking departments at Robertson Stephens, an investment banking firm. Prior to 1998, Rob worked at Prudential Securities in the real estate equity research group and at the Prudential Realty Group, the real estate investment arm of the Prudential Insurance Company.

Rob received his MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and his BA from Northwestern University.

Jason Nidiffer

Jason Nidiffer Founder, Senior Vice President, Leasing and Acquisitions

Jason is a third generation commercial real estate professional, beginning his career in a family business his grandfather started in the 1950s and which his father continues to run today. Jason has worked in nearly every sector of the commercial real estate industry, including property management, land assemblage, disposition/acquisition of single tenant net leased investment properties and multitenant shopping centers, office complex leasing and management, and medical building leasing. Over the past 10 years, Jason has focused on leasing work for second generation shopping centers and ground up development, shepherding many projects from under 50% occupancy to 100% full. Jason graduated from Cumberland College with a BA degree in Business and received his MBA from the Gatton School of Business at the University of Kentucky.

Michael Rosenberg

Michael Rosenberg Founder, Property Management

Mike comes to Big V Properties with a 25 year background in operations and project management. He spent the last 5 years building and running two successful express car washes in the Stuart, FL area. Before that he worked for 17 years as Director of Operations for a direct mail company responsible for all call centers, fulfillment centers, IT and accounting. Mike holds an MBA from Crummer School of Business (part of Rollins College) and BA from Hartwick College.

Brent Hendrix

Brent Hendrix Chief Financial Officer

Before joining Big V Properties, Brent was Controller at Shoprite Supermarkets, Inc. where he worked for twelve years. Brent has a private tax practice and owns multiple rental properties. He holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Montclair State University. Brent is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.

Philip Block

Philip Block Senior Managing Director, Acquisitions & Capital Markets

Phil has over a decade of experience in the commercial real estate finance industry. After starting his career in the real estate investment banking group at Cantor Fitzgerald, Phil helped launch Dominion Capital Advisors, a commercial real estate advisory firm with an affiliated mezzanine / private equity lender. In his role at Dominion, Phil led several large investments as well as the restructuring of the firm’s balance sheet. After leaving Dominion, Phil worked at Centerline Capital Group, where he was Vice President of Corporate Finance and Capital Markets. Most recently, Phil was a Senior Managing Director at Realty Mogul, where he created the commercial lending business and led the institutional capital markets efforts. Phil has a BBA, cum laude from George Washington University and graduated from the General Course at the London School of Economics with a degree in Finance.

Heath Binder

Heath Binder Senior Vice President, Investor Relations

Heath has 15 years of experience in the commercial real estate and financial services industries. Prior to joining Big V Capital, Heath was the head of investor relations at Realty Mogul. Prior to that, he was a wealth manager with Barclays, focusing on ultra high net worth investors. Heath began his real estate career with Colliers in New York City in 2002, and then moved to UBS where he worked as an equity and mortgage REIT analyst. Heath has an MS in Real Estate Finance from the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate.

Ryan Fabbri

Ryan Fabbri

Before joining Big V Properties, Ryan spent seven years in Banking and Finance at The First Bank and Trust Company located in Abingdon, VA. While there, he worked as an E-Commerce Sales Representative, a Commercial Credit Analyst, and a Commercial Loan Officer / Officer Manager. Ryan also completed the highly competitive 2-year Management Training Program while at the bank. Prior to his banking career, Ryan obtained his real estate licenses in 2007 and has continued to stay abreast of commercial real estate trends. He is excited move back into real estate and bring his banking perspective to the industry. Ryan received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the Haslam School of Business at the University of Tennessee.  

Ryan Smalley

Ryan Smalley Associate General Counsel

Ryan is a veteran real estate attorney with close to twenty years of experience working in real estate law, both in-house and as outside counsel. Before joining Big V, Ryan spent over six years as Counsel in the Charlotte office of McGuireWoods, a top tier law firm and one of the largest in the United States. While at McGuireWoods, Ryan handled a wide variety of real estate legal matters, including purchase and sales, mixed use development projects, portfolio transactions, lease negotiations and ground leases. Additionally, he acted as lead outside counsel for a regional grocery store chain. Prior to that, Ryan spent three years at Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein, a top regional firm in the Southeast. Ryan also worked for six years as an in-house Real Estate Attorney for Family Dollar Stores where he was responsible for supervising a team of paralegals and assistants, helping draft and negotiate leases, purchase and sale agreements and overseeing real estate litigation matters. Ryan received his BA from Washington and Lee University and his JD from Wake Forest University School of Law.

GREENVILLE, S.C. — Big V Capital has acquired Haywood Plaza, a 93,357-square-foot shopping center located in Greenville, for an undisclosed price. The property is located across from Haywood Mall, one of the three largest malls in South Carolina. The Local Cue, Bargain Hunt and Portofino’s restaurant anchor the center, which is also home to tenants including Asian Supermarket, Alpine Ski Center, Clothes Mentor, Sally Beauty, Tony’s Pizza and Reed’s Uniforms. The seller in the transaction was undisclosed.
