For those that I have not met in person, my name is Elizabeth Farnsworth, but I go by Buffy. I am excited to bring human resource support to Big V Properties! I started my career with Marriott International where I worked in Sales for 7 years and Human Resources for 8 years. I worked for a year as an HR Manager for a real estate/construction company, spent 5 years as the HR Manager for the local Jiffy Lube Franchise and most recently, spent a year and a half as the HR Director for The Brixton Group, an IT staffing solutions firm. While HR regulations remain fairly consistent from industry to industry, each company brings exciting new challenges. I am looking forward to working with each of you and growing with Big V.
On a personal note, I grew up in Greenville, SC. I graduated from the College of Charleston with a degree in Education and immediately started looking at Graduate school. I have an MBA from the University of South Carolina and I am a huge Gamecock fan! You will often see me in Garnet and Black during football season and I can be found cheering loudly whether at home or in the stadium (pre-Covid) most Saturdays in the Fall. I am the mother of an 18 year old son, Davis, who is a freshman at Western Carolina University. His passion for the outdoors and fly fishing, specifically, led us to join the local fly fishing club where I serve on the Board of Directors as the Recording Secretary. I am also very involved in an organization called PEO International which supports higher education in women. When not working, I enjoy painting, gardening, traveling, and spending time with my family who are scattered throughout South Carolina and Florida. I also enjoy playing with my two dogs, Twix and Snickers.
Marriott’s core values were based off of the belief that if you take care of your employees, they will take care of the customers and the business will take care of itself. I have carried that with me to each new job and I am here to help each of you in whatever way I can. I’m looking forward to this new adventure and getting to know each of you better very soon!
